Lots of Albertsons Deal Scenarios

Because the Epic Savings event is still going on at Albertsons, there are many great deals to be had. I've had fun stocking up on freebies to donate to the food bank (and to a few lucky friends!). There are lots of great deal scenarios created by my fellow bloggers. Here are a few I'm particularly fond of:

Frugal Living NW here, here and here

Don't forget to use those double coupons from this week's Food Day! There may be more on Sunday, too, so grab a few of the ads when you're at the store. Then, save some doubles to use with the ones that may (*hopefully*) come out Sunday.

Albertsons Trip

I went to Albertsons today to see if I could get some good deals with the double coupons from Sunday's paper. Here's what I got:

6 Skippy Natural Peanut Butter ($2.00 each)
8 Kraft Mac & Cheese ($1.00 each)
2 Knorr Rice Sides ($1.00 each)
1 Thomas' Cinnamon & Sugar Mini Bagels ($2.50)
2 Rice Krispies ($1.99 each)
1 bunch parsley ($0.69)
1 cucumber ($0.79)
2 Fruit Snacks ($0.59 each)
Total Before Coupons: $31.14

Used Albertsons in-store coupon for Skippy Peanut Butter (any kind) $0.99 each (saved $1.01 each)
Used 2 "Buy 3 get 1 free" Kraft Mac & Cheese coupons (saved $1.00 with each coupon)
Used $0.75/2 Knorr Rice Sides coupon from 5/17 RP insert
Used 2 $1/1 Kellogg's coupons from 6/7 RP insert
Used 3 Albertsons doubles ($0.75, $0.99 and $0.99)
Saved $5 for buying 10 items from "Epic Event"
Total Coupons Used: ($20.54)

Total OOP: $11.60
Received 3 $1 catalinas from Skippy Naturals (Buy 2 get $1 off your next purchase)
Received $2 catalina from Kraft (Buy 4 Mac & Cheese, get $1; Buy 5 get $1.50; Buy 6 get $2)
Total: $6.60!

*Note: the Kraft Mac & Cheese coupons I used were IP coupons, not the ones from the 6/28 SS that state "Limit one coupon per customer per transaction". If those are the only ones you have, this transaction will not work for you. (Some Albertsons cashiers will take more than one of the SS coupons, but I do not advocate using coupons in a manner in which they were not intended.)

Check out some additional double coupon scenarios here.

Check out this post from It's Hip 2 Save with a major list of all the current deals at Walmart. As you know, your local prices may vary slightly from this list, but in general, I think they're pretty accurate.

Albertsons Doubles

I've sure been enjoying the Albertsons double coupons these past couple of weeks! I made two trips today to two different stores to use all 4 sets of doubles that were expiring today. Here's what I got:

6 boxes Quaker True Delights Granola Bars
4 bonus-size French's Yellow Mustard
2 bags Mission Tortillas

Total cost: $.36!

I used 6 $1/1 True Delights coupons
4 $.75/1 French's coupons
2 $1/1 Mission IP coupons
12 Albertsons doubles

This took me 4 transactions, but both stores let me do 2 per trip, so it wasn't bad. It was certainly worth it, if you ask me!

*In today's Food Day there are more doubles, but these are good all week (through next Tuesday). You can check out this post for some deal scenarios, as well as another one here.

Albertsons Double Coupon Score

I made a quick trip to Albertsons today to use some double coupons from this week's Food Day. Here's what I got:

(4) 4-packs of Starbucks Mocha Frappuccinos $4.99 each = $19.96
(3) Skintimate Shave Gel $1.50 each = $4.50
(5) Kraft Ranch Dressing $1.50 each = $7.50
Total: $31.96

Used 4 $2/1 Frappuccino coupons (found at Starbucks stores or at the Starbucks counter in grocery stores) = (-$8.00)
Used 3 $0.75/1 Skintimate coupons = (-$2.25)
Used 5 $1.50/1 Kraft Dressing coupons = (-$7.50)
Used 3 Albertsons double coupons = (-$3.00)
Total: $11.21 (65% savings)

So, to recap, I got the shave gel and the dressing for free, and paid only $2.74 for 3 of the 4-packs of Frappuccinos, and $2.99 for one of them! That's cheaper than Costco!

*Note: the Albertsons double coupons state that only $1 and lower coupons can be doubled, so I was expecting to only have the Skintimate $0.75 coupons to be doubled. My cashier doubled the Starbucks coupons ($1 each), and told me she'd had so many complaints that she talked to the manager and he told her to go ahead and give the full $1 double amount on the higher value coupons! Lucky day!
Check out more great Albertsons deals for this week here.

Albertsons Deals

Check out this week's deals (4/22-4/28) at Albertsons on The Bargain Jargon. Doesn't look like there are any doubles this week, however. Hope you had a chance to use yours last week!

Cheap Cottonelle at Albertsons!

I went to Albertsons this morning to use my double coupons (which expire today!) and came across the Cottonelle Ultra (remember, the stuff I got the coupons for at Fred Meyer last week). It's currently on sale for $6.99 for 12 double rolls. Not a stellar deal on its own, but wait. There's a Kimberly-Clark promotion where you get a $5 coupon good on your next purchase when you spend $20 in participating products (Cottonelle is included). So, here's what I did:

Purchase 3 pkg. 12 double rolls Cottonelle Ultra ($20.97)
Use (3) $1/1 Cottonelle Ultra coupons from blinkie at Fred Meyer (-$3.00)
Use (3) Albertsons double coupons (-$3.00)
Received a $5.00 and a $1.00 catalina at the end of my transaction

Total: $8.97 for 36 double rolls!

*I'm not sure what exactly the $1.00 catalina deal was. It was a surprise when it came out! It's from Cottonelle (it says so on the coupon), but I haven't read about it anywhere.

10% Off Coupons at Albertsons Today - Sunday

I found an ad in the paper for Albertsons - when you spend $25 or more in a single transaction you'll get two coupons for 10% off your purchase of $50 or more (valid 4/13-4/19 and 4/20-4/26). It's not as great a deal as the $10 off $50 at Safeway, but since we can't use competitor coupons at Albertsons anymore, we'll have to take what we can get!

Post Cereal for $.17 or Less at Albertsons!

I read about this deal on multiple deal blogs and went to Albertsons today to try it out. What a great deal!

Albertsons is having a promotion on Post cereals. They're $2.07 on sale, but when you buy 2 it takes off $1.00. When you buy 4 it takes off $2.00 and so on. If you buy 5 boxes, you get the $2.00 off and a $5.00 catalina prints out! Here are some deal ideas:

Deal #1
Buy 2 boxes of Shredded Wheat, Raisin Bran or Grape-Nuts (any combination) - $3.14
Buy 2 boxes of Post Selects (any combination) - $3.14
Buy 1 box of Honeycomb cereal - $2.07
Total: $8.35

Use (1) $1/2 Post Selects coupon from 3/1 SS insert
Use (1) $1/2 Post Shredded Wheat, Raisin Bran or Grape-Nuts coupon from 3/29 SS insert
Use (1) $0.55/1 Honeycomb coupon from 3/1 SS insert
Receive $5 catalina at checkout

Total after catalina: $0.80 for 5 boxes!

Deal #2
Buy 2 boxes of Shredded Wheat, Raisin Bran or Grape-Nuts (any combination) - $3.14
Buy 2 boxes of Post Selects (any combination) - $3.14
Buy 1 box of Post Trail Mix Crunch - $2.07
Total: $8.35

Use (1) $1/2 Post Shredded Wheat, Raisin Bran or Grape-Nuts coupon from 3/29 SS insert
Use (1) $1/2 Post Selects coupon from 3/1 SS insert
Use (1) $2/1 Trail Mix Crunch printable coupon here
Receive $5 catalina

Total after catalina: $0.65 profit for 5 boxes!

Even if you have none of the above coupons, you'll still be getting 5 boxes of cereal for $3.35. That's only $0.67 per box. Not bad.

Try your own combinations to get the cereal your family will enjoy. Or, if some are just not your favorites, donate them to your local food pantry.

Thanks, Deal Seeking Mom!

New Albertsons Coupon Rules

Well, the inevitable has occured! As of tomorrow, Albertsons will no longer accept competitor coupons. In other words, you cannot use the Safeway double coupons or any other coupons from competitor stores.

Even though this sounds like a bad thing, it seems they are trying to make up for this change by issuing their own double coupons. In this week's ad (found in the food day that arrived today) there are 4 double coupons on the front page. Each one can be used to double one manufacturer coupon, up to $1.00 each! That's twice as good as Safeway. Note, however, that the coupons are only good March 22-24. So, get out those high value coupons and use them to get some cheap or free items.
